Cross Cultural Understanding

After staying a month in Chiang Mai, I can analyze some good habitual that I can’t find in my country. I think through this program, I can get some new experience about culture from another country. I will give a list of some habituals from thai people, here they are :

·         1. They like walking or being pedestrian (while people in my country are lazy for walking)

·         2. Thai people are independent and dillegent. We can see it from small thing. For example in canteen, after eating thai people are not leaving the dirty plates in the table, they put that things in cleaner places and throw the leftovers into the garbage. (it is very rare in my country)

·        3. Thai people are patient. We can see it when they want to buy something or use some public facilities, they will line up automatically no one is competing for place. (it is hard to apply in my country)

·         4. Thai people are very organized. We can see it from small thing. For instance, in the public facilities like in overpass we will see a two signs, red in the right side and blue in the left side. Red for people who want to go up stair and blue for people who want to down stair. There’s no one violates this unwritten rule. (I never find like this one in my country)

5.   Thai people are relegious. It is proven when they see the statue of Budha or worship place, they will make sign of respect. (it is rare in my country)

Those things are good culture that I can find in Thailand.

School Advisor

Well I think it’s better If I tell you about our school’s advisor from Yupparaj Wittayalai School with a brief description. Here they are :

The first one is Teacher Willem. He is my advisor. He teaches for M2, M3, M4, M6 classes. He is a wise man, cool man, and sometimes funny. He is a good advisor for me. He is also the head of YIP/YEP department. Many students love him, because when in the class he can be a teacher, father, friend, and also partner. I am lucky to have him as advisor because he gives me many things to improve myself better than before.

The next one is Tecaher Corbi, students call him like that. He is a funny teacher. He often makes some jokes and he likes to disturb Teacher Willem by doing some silly jokes. He has a good public-speaking, that’s why he always be a speaker in any meeting. He is a friendly person (I can see it from the first time I met him). He is advisor for Uli.

And then the next one is Teacher Danny. He is advisor for Dea. Actually I don’t know many things about him because he is silent person (how can I know, when Dea as his students also doesn’t really know about him). But yeahh he is a good person, nice teacher. He always says hi for us when we meet in the school. He also an easy going teacher (Dea told me like that) that’s why Dea was feeling lucky to have him as advisor.

The last but not the least, he is Teacher Amadou. He is advisor for Afi. He is a good man, tecaher and advisor. He is the only one who can call my name perfectly hehehehehe. He is Muslim, so he often brings for us some halal food. He also tells us about when we should pray and where we should pray. He tells us about some places that we can visit to find Mosque or buy halal food in Chiang Mai.

Those are our school advisor, we thank to them for everything that they gave for us. We are gonna miss them so much.
